Radiant Barrier Installation Services

You’ll find most radiant barriers in attics and if you don’t have one, doing a radiant barrier installation can benefit you greatly. The Radiant Barrier’s primary function is to reduce heat gain, usually in the hot summer months. According to the Department of Energy, these radiant barriers are made up of highly reflective material that reflects, (or more accurately, re-emits) radiant heat instead of absorbing it.

How does a Radiant Barrier work?

How Does a Radiant Barrier Work | Eco GReen Group - Los Angeles, SFV, Orange County, and Socal Services.Radiant heat travels away from surfaces and will heat anything solid that absorbs the incident energy. This transfer happens because warmer surfaces emit more radiation than cooler surfaces do. The heat contained in the roofing material, radiates the gained heat energy onto the cooler attic surfaces like the air ducts and the attic floor. This will heat up the rest of the house, which causes your A/C to work even harder to keep the air cool. When a radiant barrier is installed, it reduces the heat transfer from the underside of the roof to the rest of the attic.
